Your privacy
Ilm Ora is a nonprofit that offers free education. We keep as little about you as we can, we never sell or share it, and we don’t track you.

In short
- No advertising, no analytics, no tracking cookies, no tracking of any kind.
- You can read everything on ilmora.life without an account.
- If you make an account, we keep only your email address and what you keep in it: the articles you save now, and later your saved videos and your progress.
- We never sell, rent or share your information for anyone’s marketing.
- You can delete your account, and everything in it, at any time.
Your account
An account is optional. It is your own space on Ilm Ora: today it lets you save articles to “My Library”, and as they arrive it will hold the videos you save and your progress in each subject. When you make one we keep:
- your email address;
- your password, stored only in scrambled (hashed) form, so no one, not even us, can read it;
- the articles you save, and when you saved them;
- later, once these features arrive: the videos you save and your progress in each subject.
If you sign in with Google, Google tells us your email address, and also your name and the link to your profile picture. We don’t show or use your name or picture anywhere. Google does not see what you read or save on Ilm Ora.
Accounts are run on Supabase, a service that stores them for us. We send you emails only for your account: to confirm your email address, or to choose a new password when you ask for one. These emails are sent through Brevo. We never send newsletters or marketing.
To stay signed in, your browser keeps a small sign-in key on your own device. It is used for nothing else, and signing out removes it.
Deleting your account
Go to your account and choose Delete my account. Your email address, sign-in and everything kept in your account are deleted at once and can’t be brought back. You can also write to us and we will do it for you.
The contact form
When you write to us through the form, your name, email address, subject and message are sent to us by email (through EmailJS). The website itself doesn’t store them. We use them only to reply to you.
Reading and watching
Like any website, a few services are involved in showing you the pages:
- Vercel hosts the website. Like all hosts, it keeps short-lived technical records (such as the address your connection comes from) to keep the site working and safe.
- Sanity holds our articles and pictures; your browser loads the pictures from it.
- YouTube: video pictures come through our own website, so YouTube isn’t contacted while you browse. Only when you press play on a YouTube video does the video load from YouTube, in its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com).
- Cloudflare stores our own video and book files; they reach you through our website.
Your browser also remembers whether you have already seen the opening animation, for that visit only. That’s all.
Young learners
Ilm Ora is for everyone. It is written so that children, and people still learning English, can follow it too. Nothing on the site needs an account. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian before making one, and make it together.
Changes and questions
If we change what we keep, for example when paid courses arrive, we will update this page and its date first. Questions, or a request to see or delete what we hold about you: write to connect@ilmora.life.
